Piaggio Avanti EVO Development & Background

Introduced in 2014 by Piaggio Aerospace, the Piaggio Avanti EVO was built on decades of aerodynamic research and the success of the Avanti II. As a result, multiple aerodynamic upgrades were made to the performance, efficiency, and passenger experience. 

Piaggio added new winglets, which helped improve the climb rate and reduced drag by 3%. On top of that, upgraded Pratt & Whitney PT6A-66B engines were added, providing higher thrust and optimized fuel efficiency. Five-blade composite propellers were added to reduce noise levels by up to 20% and enhance smoothness in flight. 

These updates in addition to the forward canards, main wings, and tailplanes created a uniquely efficient airflow, allowing it to cruise above 400 knots while consuming 40% less fuel than traditional light jets.
